Every time when I install free WordPress theme, I definitely will remove the META from the sidebar. I know some of you may be still kept it in your blog, but I strongly suggest you remove it.

Why Remove META from Your Sidebar?
The Meta section includes some admin links like “Login” or “XHTML Valid” and some other links. This “Login” link might be useful for the blog owner only, and it offers no value for the reader.Why not remove it?
How You Login WordPress After Removing META
This is very simple! Just adding the /wp-admin at the end of your domain name. For example: http://www.domain.com/wp-admin
/images/logo.png)
/images/featured.png)
/images/recentposts.gif)
/images/ico-rss.gif)
/images/cat.png)
This is something I usually recommend a blog owner do in my reviews. The only thing worth keeping is the comments RSS.
@Frank C
That’s right!
On one hand, I agree with you on some sites. However, there are some sites where having a modified version of the Meta widget is helpful. Particularly on community sites, if you have not already integrated a login form. Still, I agree that you should remove any links that are not absolutely necessary.
@Jmorris
This post is more focused on blog.
Thanks for the clarification. Yes, in that particular instance, I would totally agree.
Or make a shortcut in your bookmarks. Yes I see no point in leaving the meta in your sidebar. It’s a waste of valuable real estate and to most readers, it’s Greek.
@Gizmo
This is what I’m doing all the while – make a shortcut in my bookmarks.
Couldn’t agree with you more . . . there is NO reason to have that on the top. That said, HOW does one remove it. I can’t find the source code to kill it.
Thanks.

Never mind . . . just found it and it’s gone.
I can’t imagine why you would allow anyone into that portion of your site in any case.
Thank you.
But I don’t know how to remove it!
thank you webmaster
