ZAGG’s invisibleSHIELD Protect Your iPhone 3G from Scratches

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

Apple will be launching iPhone 3G to more than 70 countries worldwide but only 22 countries will get the taste of the iPhone 3G by middle of July. The rest, included my nation may be end of this year.

I’m too impatience to own an Apple iPhone 3G but it is not available in our nation’s market now. Anyway, if you already have iPhone and thinking to buy iPhone 3G case, perhaps you can visit Zagg.com. ZAGG’s iphone 3g case named invisibleSHIELD™ is an exceptionally clear and virtually indestructible film that will protect the iPhone 3G from unsightly scratches.

For more information about invisibleSHIELD™, be sure you visit http://Zagg.com today!

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

I don’t use related post plugin on my blog anymore, there is no other reason why removed it, I just simply don’t like to use it now.

Recently, I found Yet Another Related Post plugin (http://mitcho.com/code/yarpp) that gives you a list of posts and/or pages related to the current entry, introducing the reader to other relevant content on your site. Some additional features of this plugin are as below:-

1. Limited by threshold
2. Using tags and categories
3. Disallowing certain tags and categories
4. Related posts and pages
5. Simple installation
6. Miscellany

For more information about the installation and related functions to be used, you can check out their site.

Popular Contest Plugin Cannot Be Activated Due To Fatal Error

Friday, April 4th, 2008

So far, there is no other great plugins to show the popular posts on your blog besides Popular Contest plugin. Do you why I said so? This is because I have spent long hours just to search for popular posts plugin after my previous Popular Contest plugin cannot be activated due to the fatal error, finally there is no one can be compared with Popular Contest plugin.

I’m so regretted to install and activate a plugin named Automatic Wordpress Upgrade yesterday, I think this is only one plugin caused my Popular Contest plugin cannot be activated, and it showed this error “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

I have tried hard to fix this problem with the help of this post, unfortunately I couldn’t make it although I have followed all the steps from this post.

I guess there will be a solution later, I can see some bloggers start to discuss about this matter in the forum. Hopefully this problem can be solved as soon as possible, otherwise I cannot post about April 2008 Popular Posts for this month, may be later month too.

Update 06/04/2008: Ken already helped me to fix this problem. Thanks Ken!

Search and Replace Text in Blog Entry/Entries

Monday, January 7th, 2008

I remembered last time after I upgraded Wordpress, some of my blog entries have weird characters as per below picture. Then I have take few minutes to edit some post entries in order to amend these weird characters, unfortunately I get bored and lazy to do so, then I just let it be.

wierd character

Now I only know there are few methods which can help you to replace these weird characters very easily. Anyway, before you going to do anything, remember to backup your database first to avoid data lose.

Method 1: Use Search and Replace Wordpress Plugin

This plugin allows you to search and replace texts across all your posts. As usual, download the plugin, install and active it and then you are ready to go.

Method 2: Using PhpMyAdmin under Your Hosting Control Panel

You have to login to your hosting control panel and click on PhpMyAdmin to proceed. If you are not so familiar how PhpMyAdmin works, be sure you back up the database first.

1. Open your database in PhpMyAdmin
2. Click on the SQL tab and use the following quote and paste to the text area

UPDATE wp_posts SET post_content = REPLACE (
post_content,
‘Item to replace here’,
‘Replacement text here’);

phpmyadmin sql

3. Click “Go” button
